This year from 25 February to 16 March, 70 establishments participated in this XI Concurso Granada de Tapas Luís Oruezábal “Chikito”, Granada de Tapas 2019, is the most important tapas competition in Granada, organised by the Federación Provincial de Empresas de Hostelería y Turismo de Granada with the collaboration of Granada City Council and the sponsorship of Cervezas Alhambra.
A competition to choose the Best Tapas of Granada and whose main objective is to enhance the value and quality of Granada’s gastronomy through a gastronomic concept as local as the TAPA. During those days all the establishments could be visited to test their proposals for the contest.
Alhambra Beers raffled 3 gourmet dinners with pairing of their three most popular beers and musical ambience in the restaurant Puesto 43, the winner of the Contest Granada Tapas 2018 last year, to qualify for this award had to publish in Instagram the photo of a TAPA participant in the contest Granada Tapas 2019

And… I was one of the three winners!!!
Dinner consisted of a tasting menu with pairing Alhambra Beer.
Miguel and Sandra, the owners of Puesto 43, received us and Sandra explained the whole menu. She is a young chef, who last year won the tapas contest with an exquisite and wonderful bite that when I tasted it I almost died of pleasure.
This traditional restaurant is well known in Granada for the incredible quality of its fish and the love that Sandra talks about in her cooking is really transmitted to her dishes.
Every day she goes to the Motril fish market (one hour from Granada on the way to the Mediterranean Sea) and buys personally all the super fresh product she offers.
She is very focused on promoting Motril’s white shrimp with its blue caviar. A very exotic shrimp that can only be found on the coasts of Granada.
